The One Queen Keeper - Components Kit comes with the additional hive parts you will need to complete an entire hive. This kit does not include frames.

Included in kit:

  • (1) 5 frame telescoping outer cover
  • (1) 5 frame inner cover
  • (2) 5 frame medium nucs (honey supers)
  • (1) 5 frame deep nuc*
  • (1) 10 frame solid bottom board w/ entrance reducer

*Why do we include a deep nuc? Because our hives make it incredibly easy to perform the Demaree method of swarm control! A deep nuc "exchange box" allows you to move brood frames from the brood chamber up above the queen excluder and "spacer box", effectively decongesting the brood chamber to prevent swarming while also increasing the population of the hive.

Needs better feeder options

I like the concept of the hive and it was pretty easy to assemble. I don’t like having the queen excluder on so I took it off and put the top cover in its place. I put a syrup jar in the hole in the cover.For some reason the bees aren’t pulling syrup from this like they do on my other hives. They are drawing comb through and the queen is laying, so time will tell. I’m on the fence as to whether this is a gimmick or an innovation.
